What would be your dream collaboration?

A cutting-edge artistic collaboration with a global brand like Louis Vuitton.

Who have been some of your favorite people you have worked with?

I like working with highly motivated talents with big visions and seeing things come to life that are bigger than we ever dreamed. The excellent collaboration with art buyers and creative directors of the Serviceplan Group and the BMW Group are good examples.

What are the most important ingredients you require from a collaborator to do successful work?

In collaborations, the customer's brand and the Felix Holzer brand should fit together well. For me, personal appreciation, clear agreements and good organization are the basic requirements for every collaborative project.

What is your greatest professional achievement?

To do what I love.

How do you think your German culture and heritage has influenced your photography?

I work very precisely, attach great importance to punctuality and am very reliable. Sounds very stuffy, doesn't it? (Laughs) Nevertheless, we have a lot of fun and enjoyment on the photo set. Hard to believe, isn't it? (Laughs)

What are your favorite subjects to photograph?

Oh, that's hard to say, I have so many favorite subjects. I would love to photograph the planet Earth as a whole from space.

What was your first camera?

My first photo camera was a second-hand Konica analog 35mm camera that my father gave me for my fifteenth birthday.

What is the greatest satisfaction you get from your work?

While photographing, I often get into a very special flow. My complete devotion makes it feel like I'm being guided by something big.

Which part of your work do you find most demanding, considering your position?

I have so many ideas, so it's often hard for me to decide which projects I'm doing now and which projects have to wait.

What professional goals do you still have for yourself?

I am currently planning several solo exhibitions, book projects and art installations. In doing so, I like to follow my intuition. I often have the feeling that people and projects have found me.

What interests do you have outside of your work?

I collect unusual objects, classic cars and art.

What do you value most?

Wisdom, thoughtfulness, generosity.

Do you also encourage young talent and what advice do you give them?

I love to inspire young talents and like to share my knowledge and skills as a mentor at universities in lectures or in the Photography Masterclass. I want to be the mentor I never had. My advice to young artists is, follow your heart and go where your energy is reciprocated, celebrated, and appreciated.

What are your secrets to a happy life?

Live in the moment

What would you change if you had to do it all over again?

Nothing.

Where do you seek inspiration?

I feel the need to always diligently feed my creative self (laughs). I like to look around when I walk the city streets, when I visit cute creative boutiques and browse flea markets.

Live the life you love.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

I still have many, many plans. That much is already revealed. What exactly, you will see. Be curious!
